PMS Systems have introduced an addition to their K-Series range of modular hot runner controllers - the new K6.

The K6 is designed for sub 24 impression moulds, offering many high end features, in a compact and economical package. Using various modular control card options the K6 can be configured for up to 24 x 15A zones or up to 24 x 5A probe zones and 8 x 15A manifold zones. Higher current cards up to 30A are also available. If preferred the 5.7” MTS2 colour touch screen can be interchanged with the 10.4” KTS3 touch screen, which includes many additional hi-res graphic functions. Both screen types can be used remote to the cabinet if required. The controller is designed with modular rear connector panels so that the connection system can be quickly geared to suit various wiring formats, using stock parts for high speed manufacture. In common with other K-Series cabinets, the K6 has a front access door for easy removal of the control cards, for ease of maintenance and fault diagnosis. Various options include an alarm beacon/sounder, trolley base, enhanced machine signalling functions and non contact water flow/temperature monitoring. The K6 offers a compact and economical modular control system that can be configured to address many moulding applications, with the reliability and ease of use the K-Series has become known for.
 
New Modular Water-Flow Management for Critical Process Monitoring
Modular Manifold

New Water Flow Measurement - For some years PMS have offered a water flow monitoring option for their controllers. The K show will see the launch of a new range of modular water manifolds that feature fully electronic flow sensors. Water manifolds are built quickly from stock parts for any number of mould water circuits. Flow values for each cooling circuit are displayed in various ways on the touch screen main display and 3D graph. Min and max alarms limits can be set for signaling the moulding machine or down stream equipment in the event of a cooling fault. The system is commonly used in the medical industry for qualifying the dimensional stability of critical parts.

 
Also, the KTS3 Touch screen with a bigger touch screen and which is compatible with the entire range of sub-60 zone controllers.
 
PMS has built a reputation for simple to operate, yet powerful user interface software, to be further improved with the addition of a new KTS3 console being shown that offers an attractive and easy to operate colour touch screen with many unique features. The new PC screen has a larger brighter display than its predecessor, additional networking and connectivity capabilities and a slimmer, more robust, steel case.
 
 
The new KW International Series Cabinets now offer integral change-over between star and delta supplies.

Their range of K-Series control cabinets has also been updated with several new features. The K10 in particular, which is on display, has been redesigned to improve access for serviceability, with the addition of internal switching for use on various three phase power sources available around the world. The K-Series of controllers are noted for their modular design with all control electronics mounted on easily removable control cards. The use of surface mount electronics and multi zone modules makes for very compact cabinets on high zone count applications. Control cards are available in either 6 zones x 5A for probes, 3 x 15A, 2 x 20A or 1 x 30A formats, which can be mixed in any combination to suit any application up to 500 zones.
 
PMS announces the new HRS-12 which has been designed to capture the popularity of the HRS-6. This offers two low cost controllers for 6 or 12 zones, each with a full 15A capacity and using a single "Turn-&-Press" user interface.

The popular S6 six zone controller introduced last year has also been joined by a new S12 twelve zone version. Both computer based controllers are fully 15A rated and available from stock. Pitched in a particularly price sensitive market, they are economically priced at £995 and £1,795 respectively, complete with cables. Both controllers feature LCD displays, various status LED’s and a simple rotate and press joggle dial for quickly making setting changes.
